FTP User Accounts

The FTP protocol provides an efficient way to quickly and easily upload files to your webspace using your favourite FTP client. However, before you can connect to your web-space to upload your files; you need to create an FTP `user` - a set of login details used to access your webspace.

The FastAdmin Control Panel allows you to create multiple FTP users; assign different FTP users to different customers; and even set up password and IP-based restrictions for each FTP account on an individual basis.

If your looking to measure the usage of your website then Analog provides a solution. It can tell you what pages are popular, which countries the visitors are coming from and the sites they have been referred from. Analog provides a simple output of the statistics so you can analyse your websites visitors.

AW Stats

Great looking statistics programs that supply you with usage data from your website are often hard to find, AWStats is an exception. AWStats takes the data from web server log files and produces great looking HTML reports. The data is presented within these reports by tables and bar graphs.  Unlike most web statistics programs AWStats supports on-demand reporting through its web interface.

Webalizer

When tracking visitors to your website is important to you Webalizer can prove to be a useful tool. Webalizer generates web pages of analysis using your user traffic from the usage logs on the server. This is the most accurate way to see the amount of traffic your website is getting as it's reading the logs files that are generate when the user visits. Statistics that are reported include hits, visits, referrers, visitors countries and the amount of data downloaded from your website. The statistics are presented by different time frames so you can dig deeper to see what happened on a particular day or month

Perl DBI

The Perl DBI libraries provide a uniform, database-neutral apporach to accessing and managing your databases.

We recommend all Infinity customers take advantage of the Perl DBI libraries instead of linking directly to the custom database libraries, as the Perl DBI libraries tend to be more secure, more efficient and easier to implement and debug than each database vendor's API

PEAR

PHP extensions are important when developing specific PHP websites. PHP Extension and Application Repository (PEAR) is a collection of PHP scripting code. It promotes the re-use of code that perform specific common functions.

PEAR provides a structured library of this code and maintains a system for distributing and managing the code packages. PEAR can be used if you want to add features to your PHP website that may be too complex or time consuming for you or your programmer to develop.

IonCube Loader

IonCube loader is the PHP extension that decodes encrypted PHP files at runtime. It is freely available and installation is very easy

PHP PDO

PDO (PHP data objects) is a recent PHP 5 technology that allows you to build database-neutral website applications. This allows to easily change database servers without needing re-write any code. This also allows you to write high-performance secure code without needing to know the intricacies of your database server.

We recommend customers use the PHP PDO libraries as they are far more efficient and secure than the old-style MySQL and MySQLI libraries.

CGI / CGI-BIN Support

Developed as a specification for transferring data between a web hosting server and a CGI script, CGI (Common Gateway Interface) is designed to accept and return data that conforms to a strict specification.

The program doesn't have to be programming language specific, it could be written in any language including C, Perl or Java. CGI is a server-side language as the processing occurs on the web hosting server.

php Admin Support

When setting up a database manually (eg: not letting a script like WordPress or Magento create it) you can often require a database management client on your computer.

These can often cost money, and have to be kept up to date. phpMyAdmin is a web based database management tool that will allow you to create and administer databases. The user interface is very logically designed and it's one of the most popular administration tools for MySQL.

MySQL User Accounts

Allowing access to your MySQL database requires authenticating with a MySQL username and password. You can customise which actions (privileges) each individual user can perform; greatly enhancing the security of your database.

Many providers provide just one MySQL user per database, however this can be impractical when building complex websites. For example; you may want to have a 'Read Only' user so that the scripts cannot make any changes to the database.

MySQL Storage Space

When creating a database you are required to specify a size in megabytes, this size is the maximum data the database can store in records. Depending on how large your website is will effect how large your database will have to be.

For example; very high-traffic forum sites will require larger database space requirements compared to a personal blog.

Webmail branding allows your visitors and users to access the Round Cube, Horde, Webmailinterface through one of your customised domain names. You are able to customise and brand the webmail interface; including the login prompt, site logo, page title and even e-mail signature, to your own corporate/business identity.

This feature is great for e-mail resellers or businesses who wish to emphasis their business/brand identity.

Mail Box Auto Responder

When you go on holiday or go out of the office you may want to let people emailing you know that you are not reading your emails. An auto-responder (also known as Out-of-Office) Will automatically reply to the sender of the email providing a message that you have configured via our custom control panel Cpanel.

This option is optional and can be turned on and off for each mailbox.

Catch Email

Email forwarding is critical when managing lots of domain names, or different extensions of the same domain name.

Catch-All Email Forwarding services will take any email address at your new domain name (eg: name@domain.com) and forward it to a mailbox of your choice (eg: name@otherdomain.com).

We see Junk and Spam mail filters as a mandatory requirement for every mailbox, so we created UniteMail to stop junk mail and spam at it’s source – connection time. This takes the load away from your email client freeing up your time to read emails, not filter them!

Webmail Boxes

Webmail Mailboxes can only be accessed through your Internet browser via our webmail email client – UniteMail Webmail. POP3 and IMAP are disabled on webmail mailboxes.

...is a browser-based multilingual IMAP client with an application-like user interface. It provides full functionality you expect from an e-mail client, including MIME support, address book, folder manipulation, message searching and spell checking.

Email Fordwarder

Email forwarding is critical when managing lots of domain names, or different extensions of the same domain name.

Email forwarding will take any email address you setup at your new domain name (eg: anything@yourdomain.com) and forward it to a different mailbox of your choice.

Email Storage

E-mail disk space is the total amount of storage capacity your mailboxes are allowed to take up on our servers. We allow you to utilise your hosting space, you just need to set mail box limit size, many hosts cap you mail box size.

IMAP / POP Mail Boxes

There are two main types of email mailbox that are commonly used for personal and business use, POP3 and IMAP.

Infinity Hosting supports both technologies on all mailboxes, and in turn email clients commonly support these. (eg. Outlook, Entourage for the Mac, Thunderbird)

Web Hosting Traffic (Bandwidth)

Monthly Traffic (Bandwidth) is the amount of data that travels between your website (on our servers) and your visitors computer. Before choosing your web hosting package you will have to consider how big the files that you wish to store on our servers will be.
